Commodus, Sest.Tri-Moneta.

Circa: 186-187 A.D. Origin: Roman

Obverse: bears the bust of Commodus facing right.

Reverse: bears the image of personification of the mint, Three Moneta.

History: The reign of the Commodus began with high hopes that he would prove to be as great an Emperor as his father Marcus Aurelius.

This was not to be and on December 31st 192 A.D. he was murdered.

His reign was noteworthy for bad administration and excess.
